THERMOIL

THERMOIL is a mineral based heat transfer oil to be used in closed heating systems working in temperature range of -12°C and +320°C. It has a low vapor pressure, high oxidation and thermal stability thus making it a premium heat transfer fluid. In addition to that, it is a low volatile, corrosion protecting oil with high heat transfer coefficient. It has been designed to meet a wide range of applications. It can used in every heat transfer system where the skin temperature at the heater is lower than 340°C (around 315°C bulk temperature). In open systems, maximum allowed temperature is 150°C. With its low viscosity, it doesn’t show any circulation problems even at lower temperatures.

Design and Operating Notes
•Heated oil should always be circulated even after stopping the heater.
•There should be an emergency circulation pump that would automatically or manually start after a failure in main pump.
•The fire shouldn’t touch the pipes directly. This could lead to quicker cracking of heat transfer oil and make it unusable.
•There must be an expansion tank in the system. The volume of oil at 300°C is 20% higher than the volume at room temperature. And the oil temperature in the tank should not exceed 60°C.
•At initial start, oil should be slowly heated until 100°C and possible water vapor should be discharged.

Application
THERMOIL is frequently used in cement and steel factories, textile industry, dyeing plants, chipboard manufacturing plants, in chemical factories and many other industries where heat transfer is required.

Packaging and Storage Should be stored sealed under normal storage conditions. Shelf life in original package and at room temperature is 3 years. Available in in 200 LT drums, 1000 LT IBCs and in bulk. Health and Work Safety Normal safety precautions (i.e. gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling. Avoid eye and prolonged skin contact. Wash thoroughly after handling material. For more information please see the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
